Pass Plus

Start-2- Drive is registered with Kent County Council so that we can offer you a Pass Plus course for only £60 ( normally over £120).

Pass Plus is 6 extra hours of Professional training for only £60, covering the following areas:

• Motorways
• Dual Carriageways
• Town driving
• Country/ rural roads
• All weather driving
• Night Driving

To take the Pass Plus course you must have passed your driving test!

Why should I take the Pass Plus?

Pass Plus is designed to improve your driving skills and advancing your hazard awareness skills will both reduce your chances of being involved in a serious crash. Insurance companies offer significant discounts for young drivers after completing a Pass Plus course within 12 months of passing their driving test.

To qualify for the £60 discount sponsored by Kent County Council you must:

• Be aged between 17-19
• Live in the Kent County Council catchment area (excluding Medway).
• Use an approved driving instructor registered with KCC.
• Register with KCC before starting the Pass Plus course to receive your unique Driver Reference Number.
• Provide your Start-2-Drive instructor with the KCC unique Driver Reference Number before training. The number is only valid for 3 months.

* Understand that the cost of any additional training (more than 6 hours) must be paid for by you (if required).

Taxi driver training course

More and more local authorities are insisting upon an assessment of driving ability before issuing a licence to trade as a taxi or private hire driver. Legislation is constantly reflecting the requirements of the people and standards are being raised to comply with this need.

As all instructors at Start-2-Drive are DIA Diamond Accredited Taxi-Driver Trainers (D A T T), we are able to provide you with the best package to prepare you for your Taxi Driver Driving Test within the latest rules and requirements, this can include any or all of the following depending on your requirements:

• Taxi Manoeuvres
• Written Driver Assessments

Training is available at £25 per hour, please bear in mind that suitable training and practise is important to maximise your chances of passing the test, please don't leave it to the last minute to book a training session, driving tests are not cheap!

The Taxi Test

• The test lasts about 40 minutes
• Eyesight test
• 3 pull-ins
• 2 manoeuvres
• Controlled Stop(1 in 3 tests)
• 3 Highway code question
• 2 Cabology questions
• 5 Traffic sign questions
• Maximum of only 9 driving faults (minors) allowed
• No Major faults
